busy busy

I am working very hard to organize a trip to Washington DC for my Nana's birthday in April. She has told us for years that she wants to go see the cherry blossoms and my mom and I are beginning to feel like we are racing against the dementia to get things like this accomplished. She tells me the same stories over and over. The other day she started to tell me a story, that I already knew, and she began by saying that she just wanted to share as many memories as possible before she forgets them all. I know that I will regret it forever if we don't take this trip. Now I just have to figure out the best way to travel with a not-so-mobile senior citizen and a five month old. We are thinking about taking the Amtrak up there and taking the metro to get around. I picked up this pocket posh sodoku at Costco yesterday. I figured I could work the puzzles on the trip up but now I am wondering how on earth I will have the time for that. I'm starting to stress a little. I also got this Ergo baby carrier last week at a consignment sale for $25! It is still in the box and it was never used! I was about to buy a used one on Ebay for $80. I have a cheapo baby carrier that just isn't doing the trick anymore. This one will be perfect for touristy activities. Child consignment sales are totally the way to go.

Sooo jealous over the baby carrier find! I just gave up and now Jilli is just too dang fidgety to care.
DC in April is goooorgeous! Rob and I have been... a lot. The metro will save you time AND money! You really must make the trip. You'll be worn out but glad you did it! And seriously, Rob is one of the best non-DC citizen tour guids you'll ever know. If you wanted to get together to pick his brain, let me know! I'd love to meet your l'il Lucas, anyway. : )
